Data Network Management has upgraded its local repository for various Linux distributions (CentOS, a free RedHat Enterprise derivative; Ubuntu; cAos and Fedora) and updates, providing convenient and fast service to the USF community. It also has a copy of FreeDOS for making boot floppies and legacy software and systems as well as a copy of the Monash archive of software for students of the Japanese language. See ftp.usf.edu for more details!
Due to increasingly tight Internet address space at USF, Data Network Management is beginning to utilize Network Address Translation in select parts of USF’s data network. Please see the USF NAT Info Page for more details.
The University of South Florida Data Network Management Group has joined other groups at Academic Computing in providing the USF community with announcements in an interactive blog medium. News about wireless, registration, network improvements, scheduled maintenance and major problems will be posted here. They will also be mirrored on the Data Network Management Web Page in the familiar old location.
